Apple unveils tablet mystery, the iPad

There will be Wi-Fi implemented in the tablet along with Bluetooth. But one of the differences between an iPod Touch and an iPad is the ability to access the Internet via AT&T's 3G network. Jobs announced that Apple and AT&T have come down to terms on providing Internet access wherever you are in the nation. There will be a non-3G lineup as well if the incentive of 3G Internet access is not wanted.
What is concerning is the concept of what a tablet PC should be. Apple looks like it could be the first company to officially put the first tablet on the market. They are providing the consumers an idea that seems to show that the tablet is an entertainment device.
HP and Acer, along with a small company called Fusion Garage and their infamous JooJoo or CrunchPad tablets are planning on putting their own tablets on the market as well. Many other companies like Sony, ASUS, and MSI have shown interest in taking part in the tablet market.
Judging at their concepts of a tablet, they are intended on running computer operating systems such as Windows 7 or a Linux-based OS, designed for regular personal computer jobs.
The tablet PC war has just started with Apple taking the head start. Seeing other companies following suit is inevitable. The new competition towards the computer market will indeed deem interesting through the years to come.
